”Stars in Black Water” is an audio-visual performance, the visual part of which consists of home archives, videos from military drones and open sources related to the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in southern Ukraine.

The project is dedicated to the author’s childhood and teenage years spent in Oleshky, the beauty and mysticism of the local nature, the cultural identity of the region, childhood memories, and also illuminates the consequences of the presence of Russian troops that occupied Oleshky on the first day of the fullscale invasion on February 24, 2022.

Sound composition in the genre of experimental electronics, dark ambient and sound design. Contains recordings of the sound landscape of nature, made in Oleshky during the last peaceful summer.

Insomnia Taxxi

(Iryna Novikova) is an international sound artist, composer, music producer in the genre of dark ambient, experimental electronic music and sound design from Ukraine (Kyiv), who lives and works in Sweden. She actively works in the field of cinema, theater, creates conceptual electronic music compositions and sound design for digital art. She also works with electro-acoustic music, composing and performing programs for organ and synthesizers.
Iryna’s sound world is characterized by dark melodies, experimental music with a compositional form, vocals and synthesizers.
